Dr. Marissa Palmer’s love for chiropractic began when she was only 8 years old. She was raised with a grandfather that studied chiropractic. She grew up knowing that there was a holistic approach to health care to prevent animal disorders.
Throughout her life, she grew up caring for many abandoned animals. She took in many stray dogs, cats, chickens, and pigeons. She also owned other animals such as: horses, goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, chinchillas, birds, and turtles. She would do her best to take care of these animals, but could not give them everything they needed. That was when she decided to become an animal chiropractor.
Dr. Palmer graduated as a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS). Dr. Palmer also graduated from Options for Animals School of Chiropractic. Her animal chiropractic education allowed her to experience working on both large and small animals. In addition to her certification through Options for Animals, she is certified through the largest animal chiropractic organization, The International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA). She is also a member of the IVCA research committee, where she helps to approve funding for animal chiropractic research.
